The clamshell clamp is the most advanced and the most functional cylinder clamp on the market. Designed for ease of use and the ability to position bottles in difficult access areas, this clamp also has the added advantage of supporting the cylinder when undone. Made from the finest aluminum alloy and polished to a mirror finish.

Features
• Load spreading jaws reduce point loading of the cylinder.
• Lightweight, compact design.
• Higher clamping area allows more secure clamping
• Easy to install with through hole access.
• No tools required to remove the cylinder.
• Compliance in the design allows variation in bottle size or linear misalignment during fitting.
• Hand tightening knob or nylock locknut and washer for anti-vibration.
• Polished aluminum backer plate and mounting hardware included.
• Can be used vertically as well as horizontally
• When horizontal the clamp will support the cylinder when the clamps are opened.

Fitting and Use of your Clamshell Clamp

This design allows for replacement of the nylock nut once it has worn. If required a nylock nut and washer can be used instead of the hand tightening knob to get higher clamping loads, but be careful not to over tighten the nut since it may damage the cylinder.

Two ¼” mounting holes are machined in the base. We recommend that when mounting the cylinder in a horizontal plane that you have the fixed jaw underneath so it supports the cylinder when the clamp is undone.

When mounting a pair of clamshell clamps on a cylinder, first mark your drilling positions with the clamps and
cylinder in place.
